MintNeuro, a London-based MedTech spinout from Imperial College London, has raised Β£1m in a seed round led by Empirical Ventures, with participation from the Imperial College Enterprise Fund and MedTech SuperConnector. Co-founded by Professor Tim Constandinou and Dr Dorian Haci, MintNeuro is developing semiconductor-based neural implants that are compact, efficient, and scalable, addressing limitations of traditional bulky, power-intensive implants that require invasive surgeries.
The funding will accelerate MintNeuro's chip development and expand its team, driving the creation of modular neural devices adaptable for conditions such as epilepsy, Parkinsonβs, dementia, and depression. Strategic collaborations include an NIHR-funded epilepsy monitoring project with Imperial College London and Kingβs College London, and a neuromodulation chipset for mixed urinary incontinence with Amber Therapeutics, which recently secured $100m in funding. These partnerships aim to bring safer, more accessible neural technologies to patients, marking a transformative shift in neurological care.
