Lawhive, a U.K.-based legal tech startup, has raised £31.4m in a Series A round co-led by GV (Google Ventures) and TQ Ventures, with additional participation from Balderton Capital, Jigsaw, Episode 1, and Premier League footballers Harry Maguire and Reece James.
Founded in 2019 by Pierre Proner, Jaime Van Oers, and Flinn Dolman, Lawhive provides AI-powered SaaS solutions for "Main Street" law firms, automating tasks, reducing costs by up to 50%, and speeding up response times to enable firms to serve more clients. Its AI assistant, "Lawrence," has even passed part one of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).
With its Series A funding, Lawhive aims to expand its operations in the U.S., targeting smaller firms that struggle with higher costs and a shrinking market. The platform also connects lawyers with clients via its marketplace, providing affordable legal access to consumers and small businesses.
