Good Boost, a Bristol-based healthtech start-up, has raised Β£500,000 in a seed round led by British Design Fund. Founded by Ben Wilkins, the company develops AI-driven aquatic rehabilitation technology designed to transform public swimming pools and specialist hydrotherapy pools into hubs for therapeutic recovery and conditioning.
Good Boostβs flagship product, digital aqua paddles, enables precise measurement of human movement in water, addressing musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions that impact over 20m people in the UK and 1.7bn globally. The technology also supports tailored aquatic recovery and conditioning for athletes, with applications in sports rehabilitation to reduce injuries and recovery time.
Recognised with multiple awards and featured in NHS and government reports, Good Boost plans to utilise the funding to expand into public pools, leisure centres, and gyms, while scaling its research and development efforts and deploying in specialist recovery pools.
Damon Bonser, CEO of British Design Fund, highlighted the teamβs expertise and the significant global potential of their technology to revolutionise rehabilitation services.
