Cambridge GaN Devices has raised £25m in a Series C round led by an undisclosed strategic investor, with participation from British Patient Capital, Parkwalk, BGF, Cambridge Innovation Capital, Foresight Group, and IQ Capital. Founded by Giorgia Longobardi and Florin Udrea, the company develops gallium nitride (GaN) power devices that improve energy efficiency in applications such as electric vehicles and data centres.
Its proprietary ICeGaN® technology enables faster switching speeds, lower energy consumption, and more compact designs, with efficiency levels exceeding 99%. The company’s innovations have the potential to cut CO₂ emissions by millions of tons annually.
The new funding will support expansion into North America, Taiwan, and Europe, as well as further innovation in high-power industrial, data centre, and automotive markets.
